What You Can Do to Help (click link for info)
Whether you are a faith-based organization, business, or individual, you can contribute and make a difference through a one-time contribution of time or resources or as an ongoing assistance resource.
Thank you, in advance, for your generous contribution of time and/or resources.
Questionnaire information will be entered into our database of available, ongoing resources. On-line questionnaires are submitted by e-mail; MS Word and PDF forms may be submitted by e-mail attachment, faxed to us, or mailed to our office for processing.

What You Can Do To Help
Employers
- Send a list of open positions at your company--most importantly include a list of the types of job skills you need for each position.
- Are you willing to hire people in Emporia and assist them in getting resources to vanpool to your city for work?
- Check the Web site for a list of job skills we have available--if you see a match, let us know so the workers that match your criteria can be told to contact you.
Faith-based Groups & Churches
- Pray for the people of Emporia and the surrounding communities & counties.
- Fill out the form to get us your contact information and tell us what resources you can provide.
- Attend a meeting of faith groups at the Emporia Presbyterian Church on February 12th at 8th and Commercial Streets in Emporia. Click here for map.
Individuals & Groups
- Send cash donations to Emporia Presbyterian Church, 802 Commercial St., Emporia, KS 66801. Mark your check with the group you would like the funds to be distributed to:
- Friends in Faith for general relief and to be distributed to groups as specific needs become known.
- Lyon County Restricted Emergency Fund (LCREF). These funds will be divided up and given to the fund in monthly disbursements to insure a flow of aid over the next few years and once paychecks cease for Tyson employees and contractors that are also effected.
- Salvation Army cash aid.
- Salvation Army food aid.
- Funds for an office manager to answer phones and reply to mail and messages from displaced workers.
- Send gift cards to Dillons, Wal-Mart, Reebles, Price Chopper, Aldi, Flying J, or other food stores/gas stations. Friends in Faith will commit to get these in the hands of people that need it most when the need arises.
- Deliver food to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.
- Translators: Spanish, Vietnamese, and Arabic.
- Deliver diapers, baby food and formula to the Salvation Army.
- Offer Van-pools to other cities to work and seek work.
- Assist with doing taxes. Contact Friends in Faith--96 people have already had their taxes prepared for free with the help of the Learning Center and Emporia State University.
